Solution Innovation District (SID) and Circum Technologies Join Forces to Power the Next Generation of Robotic Engineers

Awka, Nigeria — July 1, 2025

In a bold step to strengthen Anambra's position as Nigeria’s emerging tech powerhouse, the Solution Innovation District (SID), in collaboration with Circum Technologies, has launched a dynamic Robotics Training Programme aimed at empowering young people across the state with essential 21st-century skills in robotics and automation.

The training kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony at SID headquarters in Awka, drawing key government officials and innovation leaders, including:

• Ms. Chinwe Okoli, Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation
• Dr. Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information 
• Mr. Christian C. Udechukwu, Commissioner for Industry
• Mr. Sylvester Uzoama, CEO of Circum Technologies

In her opening remarks, Ms. Okoli noted that the programme reflects Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s digital transformation vision for Anambra, to make the state the digital and creative capital of Nigeria.

 “Through SID, we are raising a generation of digital creators, inventors, and problem solvers who will drive Anambra’s industrial and technological future,” she said.

The fully sponsored training is designed to be immersive and hands-on. Participants will not only learn the theory behind robotics but also design, build, and program working robots,  applying their knowledge in real time.

Commissioner Udechukwu encouraged participants to turn their skills into businesses, assuring them of access to startup funding through the Anambra State Business Agency (ASBA):

"Tech is the new oil. If you’ve got an idea, we’ll help you build a business around it,” he said.

Adding to the excitement, Circum Technologies announced that the top two participants will receive a free laptop and drone, rewarding excellence and fueling motivation.

“We’re not just building robots, we’re building dreams,” said Circum CEO Mr. Uzoama. “Circum is proud to invest in the talents shaping Africa’s future.”

The initiative sits at the heart of the Soludo Solution Agenda, which recognizes innovation as a critical engine for economic development, job creation, and global relevance.
