Anambra State’s flagship innovation program, the 1 Million Anambra Digital Tribe Initiative (1MADT), developed by the Solution Innovation District (SID) — has been named one of the world’s Top 10 Most Inspiring Solutions in the prestigious 2025 Inspiring Solutions Competition by the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).
This milestone marks the first time a Nigerian-based member has reached the Top 10 since the competition's inception, spotlighting Anambra on the global stage of innovation, digital transformation, and inclusive development.
“This recognition is not just for SID or for Anambra State Government,” said Chinwe Okoli, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and BusinessIncubation and Head of Solution Innovation District. “It’s for the thousands of young people, women, informal traders, and rural communities who have embraced digital skills and entrepreneurship. The world has seen what we are building in Anambra and they are inspired.”
About the IASP Inspiring Solutions Programme
Launched in 2014, the IASP Inspiring Solutions Programme is a global call for bright ideas and successful mechanisms implemented in science and technology parks and areas of innovation around the world. It aims to recognize the most innovative, impactful, and transferable solutions that support entrepreneurship, technology development, and knowledge economies.
The IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation) is a global network with over 300 member organisations across more than 75 countries, supporting over 115,000 resident tech companies in science parks and innovation districts worldwide.
About 1MADT
1 Million Anambra Digital Tribe (1MADT) is SID’s flagship program that aims to train and empower one million Anambra residents — including youths, traders, artisans, graduates, young professionals, civil servants, students and women- with digital skills in e-commerce, software development, and entrepreneurship. So far, it has directly trained over 60,000 people, with more than 50% women participation, across all 21 LGAs and 179 communities of Anambra State.
