Anambra State continues to strengthen its commitment to building a technology-driven economy as Mr Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, received the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria Resident Representative, Ms. Elsie Attafuah, and her delegation on a courtesy visit to the Light House, Awka, on 7 August 2026.
As part of the delegation’s visit to the State, the team also toured the permanent site of the Solution Innovation District (SID), where they had the opportunity to see firsthand the infrastructure and vision behind Anambra’s emerging technology and innovation ecosystem.
The delegation was received at SID by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation and CEO of SID Ms Chinwe Okoli, who led the Resident Representative and her team on a tour of the new SID building and ongoing developments at the innovation district's permanent site.
The visit offered an opportunity to showcase the bold vision of Governor Soludo for positioning Anambra State as a leading hub for technology, innovation, enterprise and human capital development.
Under the Governor’s leadership, Anambra has made deliberate investments in building the infrastructure, talent pipeline towards raising 1 Million Anambra Digital Tribe and strategic partnerships required to create a globally competitive innovation ecosystem.
We are particularly grateful for the growing partnership between UNDP Nigeria and the Government of Anambra State, supporting innovation and youth development through initiatives including Young Africa Innovates (YAI), the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP), and the innovation Makerspace currently under development.
These interventions complement Governor Soludo’s vision by creating pathways for young people to develop skills, build solutions, pursue entrepreneurship and participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
During the visit, the Resident Representative expressed appreciation for Governor Soludo’s efforts and the remarkable development taking place across Anambra State, particularly the State’s deliberate focus on innovation, human capital and enterprise development.
At SID, we remain committed to translating the Governor’s vision of “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” into tangible opportunities for the people of Anambra.
We look forward to deepening our partnership with UNDP Nigeria as we collectively build an inclusive, sustainable and globally competitive innovation ecosystem for Anambra and beyond.
Everything Technology. Technology Everywhere.
