We are delighted to share that the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has been honoured with the AfricaX Innovation Impact Award at the Africa Innovation and Investment Summit 2026 Awards & Gala Night held at the Yar'Adua Centre, Abuja.

The award recognises Governor Soludo's visionary leadership in technology and innovation, as well as the transformative policies and programmes driving Anambra State’s emergence as one of Africa’s leading subnational innovation ecosystems. It celebrates his “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” agenda and the impactful work being delivered through the Solution Innovation District (SID).

The award reflects the tangible progress recorded under the Soludo administration in building a robust innovation ecosystem. Through SID, over 264,000 individuals have been equipped with digital and technology skills through initiatives such as LevelUp Anambra, Code Anambra, SID Academy, Robotics, and ISP Network Engineering programmes. The ecosystem has also supported the incubation of 111 startups, facilitated more than ₦364 million in startup seed funding, and contributed to the emergence of over 21 private innovation hubs across the state. Together, these interventions are laying the foundation for a knowledge-driven economy powered by talent, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The award further acknowledges the administration's long-term commitment to building sustainable innovation infrastructure, including the development of SID's permanent 13.7-hectare campus at the Old Government House site - a future world-class hub for technology, entrepreneurship, research, innovation, and talent development.

Hosted by the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), the summit convened policymakers, investors, founders, researchers, development institutions, and innovation ecosystem leaders from across Africa to advance discussions on digital transformation, innovation-led growth, and the continent's knowledge economy.
