The Solution Innovation District, an Innovation and Business Incubation program of Anambra State, held the Orientation/Opening Ceremony of its Anambra Digital Tribe program—CODE ANAMBRA on November 21, 2023. The occasion witnessed an impressive turnout of Anambra indigenes and residents, with over 5000 participants joining both online and onsite at the Solution Innovation District Center in Awka.
The event was graced by the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who expressed his delight at the diverse age group in attendance. The Deputy Governor commended the participants for their eagerness to learn, ideate, and embrace the spontaneous digital revolution unfolding in the state. He expressed profound gratitude to Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR for establishing the Solution Innovation District and reiterated the Governor's commitment to transforming Anambra into the creative and digital capital of Nigeria.
In his impactful speech, the Deputy Governor highlighted Governor Soludo's dedication to growing human capital development, especially among the youth of Anambra State. He emphasized the Governor's philosophy of not just providing fish but creating extensive opportunities and avenues for individuals to procure the fish themselves.
The Deputy Governor took a moment to appreciate and eulogize Ms. Chinwe Okoli, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, recognizing her outstanding work and dedication in propelling the state towards a digital revolution.
The Code Anambra Program, a continuous cohort-based initiative of the Solution Innovation District, selected 2000 participants out of an overwhelming 10,000+ applications. The program, being implemented by Decent Job Tech Skills Ltd, is designed to equip Anambra youths with knowledge, expertise, and practical skills across various core and advanced digital skills. The four-month comprehensive training, learning, and project phase includes 14 digital courses, contributing significantly to the development of a highly skilled and competitive workforce in Anambra.
Governor Soludo's unwavering commitment to youth development and empowerment was evident as Code Anambra is offered free of charge to Ndi Anambra, further showcasing his dedication to providing opportunities for the state's indigenes and residents.
Other distinguished guests present at the orientation event included the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority -ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko, Mr. Solomon Ezeobika, the keynote speaker, and Mr Godwin Obekpa, General Manager of Decent Job Tech Skills Ltd.
