The Anambra State Government, under the visionary leadership of Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, has again achieved an important milestone in its drive to build a world-class innovation ecosystem in Anambra.

This groundbreaking event was held on December 11, 2023, at the Solution Innovation District center in Awka. The event was graced by Mr Deputy Governor Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Commissioners, MDs, Representatives of the Academia. The event attracted stakeholders drawn from relevant sectors, MDAs, innovation ecosystem and the Nigeria Startup Secretariat Team from Abuja. It was a highly engaging, insightful and impactful event.

The Nigeria Startup Act, 2022, enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a pivotal piece of legislation aimed at fostering the growth of startups across the nation. Hence, adopting this act is crucial to developing an enabling environment for technology-enabled startups to thrive in the state.

This strongly aligns with Mr Governor's resolute vision to position Anambra as the digital and creative capital of Nigeria.

The Nigeria Startup Act is poised to provide Anambra State with a robust legal and institutional framework for the development of startups, creating an environment conducive to the establishment, development, and operation of startups in the state. The act will also contribute to the growth of technology-related talents, positioning Anambra as the leading digital technology center, a startup state and a home of the digital tribe that are competitive in various digital skills and exportable abroad.

We also seized the opportunity to present prizes to the winners of the Startup Competition SID and ANSIPPA organised (we were to present it during the summit). Prizes were sponsored by VFD Group.

This further strengthens the message that Mr Governor walks the talk.

A milestone that again shows our commitment as a State.
