Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation Engages Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) Youth Wing on SID Programs

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Hon. Chinwe Okoli had an interactive session with the Youth Leaders of Town Union in the State (ASATU) at their monthly meeting today 29/04/2023.

The ASATU Youth President General Comrade Ken Okoli, Executive members, and leaders of various towns in the State welcomed the Hon Special Adviser (SPAD) and her entourage comprising the Solution Innovation District (SID) Team members. 

This was part of an advocacy plan to sensitize Ndi Anambra on the Innovation and Business Incubation Program of Mr. Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo. C.F.R. to enable Ndi Anambra to key into the 4th Industrial Revolution and the opportunities therein.

The Hon SPAD addressed  ASATU youth on the rationale for the set-up of SID, its programs,  goals, and objectives. She further highlighted the immense benefits of the SID range of programs for Ndi Anambra emphasizing the great plan of Mr Governor to get Anambra on the global digital map while grooming and exporting competent skills and talents from Anambra. 

She explained that SID programs and services are aimed at training and raising competent Anambra digital tribe and talents, incubating startup ideas, training, mentoring, and supporting entrepreneurs, forming a network of angel investors, and attracting the world to Anambra.

She further explained that in line with Mr. Governor's goal to democratize innovation and opportunities in Anambra State, SID mini hubs will be set up in various locations across the State to ease accessibility and increase impact. This She stated would be done in partnership with well-meaning Sons and Daughters of Anambra from various communities and other partners.  She extended a hand of partnership to prospective partners to the noble project stating that the goal is to also give access to those in the remote areas.

She stated that one of the SID programs, Anambra Digital Tribe has already kicked off with LevelUp Anambra which was launched by Mr Governor in March and targets to train 20,000 youths on digital skills in partnership with Microsoft and Wootlab Foundation. The LevelUp Anambra Cohort 1 training is concluding and the Cohort 2 call for applications will open on May 1, 2023. 

She concluded by stating that SID is geared towards wealth creation and job creation in the State and encouraged all to take advantage of this. She called on the leaders to become Ambassadors of SID, and sensitize their towns on the immense benefits of SID and the great plans of Mr. Governor for them through SID.

Finally,  the ASATU President General appreciated Mr. Governor for his great plan through SID. He pledged his support and further called on the leaders to embrace this project and give it full support to help achieve the goal which will benefit all individually and collectively. The youth leaders welcomed this noble project and pledged their full support to the Special Adviser as they expressed their gratitude to Mr. Governor for this landmark project.

They promised to drive the message of SID home and set up contact points for SID in their communities for easy dissemination of information and technical support.
